Five days away from 2018, and I’m in awe of how much I’ve grown in 2017. The year started a bit rocky, I’m not going to lie, but to start off the year like I did and to be where I am now is nothing short of a miracle.
I’ve talked about much of my journey when this blog was still From the Desk of Lauren. Then in October, I announced a major branding change (which turned out to be the top post for 2017) and made the commitment to stop running away from my desire to write by signing up for a writers workshop with Hay House.
Since the Writers Workshop is online and at your own pace, I haven’t completed it yet (I’m on Week 4 of 11), but so far I’ve learned so much about what it means to be a writer, including the feelings and emotions that we face. For the first time ever, I don’t feel alone in the writer’s journey and feel like I belong to an elite group of individual creatives who also feel the tug of their heart to write – or else face feeling incomplete.
To honor the journey I’ve taken this year and the renewed commitment I’ve made to write, I wanted to commemorate a post to some of my writing. In case you’re new here, the top posts of 2017 are all from after October when I refocused and started writing on a more consistent basis. In 2017, I also wrote a few guest posts for other bloggers, with the goal of writing much more in 2018. (Just for the fun of it, I included a guest post I wrote back in May 2016 about the birth of my third child.)
Newbies, if you read all the links in this post, you’ll for sure be caught up in learning a bit about who I am, what I believe in, and my writing style. But more importantly, I hope that in doing so you’ll learn from me and apply some of those lessons to your own life.

This email includes an affiliate link. If you purchase a Hay House online course through my link, I’ll earn a small compensation from Hay House for the recommendation. I’ve taken two Hay House Courses: Wayne Dyer’s “Writing from Your Soal” and “Writers Workshop with Reid Tracy and other Hay House Authors”. I only recommend products or services that I’ve used and can personally vouch for and only when I feel that the recommendation would genuinely help my readers. Both of these courses are great for anyone who is looking to advance their writing journey. Thanks in advance for your understanding and support.
